Certification
ACUHO-I is a founding member of the Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification and oversees the Certified Student Affairs Educator–Campus Housing and Residential Life (CSAEd-HRL) credential. The Consortium recently completed a comprehensive review and published a report outlining its findings, which is available on the Consortium’s website.
Based on the report and additional stakeholder input, the Consortium has decided to implement several changes moving forward:
- For professionals who have already earned certification, existing credentials (including CSAEd and CSAEd-HRL) will remain valid and be extended by two years beyond their original expiration dates. After that time, they will transition to a legacy designation.
- Recertification will not be offered at the end of the extension period for current participants.
- Applications for new certification and continuing education providers will be discontinued as the founding partner associations explore more accessible and sustainable approaches to professional learning and credentialing.
