The Behavioral Health and Well-Being Institute
The Behavioral Health and Well-Being Institute (BWI) is a product of the Future of the Profession initiative and will be offered as an extended pre-conference program ahead of Campus Home. LIVE! in Columbus, Ohio. It will also be open to individuals and teams not registered for the conference. The BWI will be held June 27-28 and focus on skill building and competencies to improve community well-being within residential settings. Learn more here.

HBCU Roundtable – $25
This session will run during the entirety of the Campus Home. LIVE! pre-conference time, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and then continuing from 1-4 p.m., after a break for lunch from 12-1p.m. between segments. The roundtable will be hosted and facilitated by Leonard Jones (Western Washington University). This is an excellent opportunity for professional networking, problem-solving, and discussion about the management of today’s campus housing environments given the many challenges and constraints facing the field and higher education as a whole. This session is open to all delegates.

Senior Housing Officer Forum (Large Colleges and Universities) – $25
This is a special opportunity for senior housing officers from housing programs with over 3,000 beds to exchange strategies and resources, and to discuss issues that are pertinent to their everyday responsibilities. This forum will provide the chance for participants to take the time to honestly reflect and talk with colleagues. Inspired by dialogue that occurs at some state-wide, regional, Big Ten, PAC-12 and similar-type meetings, the forum provides a broader scale, giving SHOs from larger housing programs around the world a candid venue for discussion. This is intended to be an intimate setting for sharing ideas, talking over solutions, and building strong professional relationships.

We will delve into strategies for balancing professional responsibilities with self-care across physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, financial, social, and occupational aspects. Explore how to define and recalibrate your professional identity amidst these facets, and learn to strategically manage influence and energy within complex institutional environments
Vivid Vision: Creating a Shared Organizational Vision of the Future – $25

Pulling Back the Curtain: Preparing Emerging Leaders for Facility Design – $25
Curious about what happens in residential facility design meetings? This session pulls back the curtain to demystify the process and prepare new and emerging leaders to contribute effectively when eventually invited to the table. Discover how to prepare, share meaningful insights, and advocate for student-centered spaces. Through practical strategies and a mock design meeting, build the skills and confidence needed to collaborate with stakeholders and shape the future of campus housing.

Live-In Professionals Roundtable – $25
This half-day session is designed to provide entry-level live-in campus housing professionals with a focused space to engage with peers in similar roles who seek promising practices related to student interaction, supervision, community development, advising, professional development, and work-life negotiation and boundaries. Participants will also learn more about ACUHO-I, its networks, and how to get involved with the Association and stay engaged during the conference. This experience will be led through a moderated experience that will allow for issues dialogue, problem-solving, networking, and skills application through large- and small-group activities.
Global Symposium – $25
If you’re planning on attending 2025 Campus Home. LIVE!, we invite you to enhance your experience by joining us for the association’s Global Symposium. The symposium actively engages both U.S.-based and non-U.S.-based professionals in housing and residence life focusing on the impact of global contexts of higher education on our operations. The purpose of the symposium is to leverage the strengths of a global professional housing community to be on the forefront of housing and residence life best practices. The symposium is an excellent opportunity to build relationships with professionals from around the world through idea sharing and discussion.
Navigating a Higher Education Internal Investigation – $25
This session explores navigating and supporting staff through the intricacies of internal investigations. With an overview of federal law and practices, it will cover topics often overlooked in student affairs graduate programs. From exploring key considerations for supervisors, such as adjusting supervision and delegating duties, to discussing the emotional, intellectual, and professional challenges of an investigation, the presenters will offer suggestions for well-being through the process.
Shaping the Built Environment to Support Student Well-Being – $25
Over 60% of college students face mental health issues, presenting a significant challenge in higher education. This interactive workshop helps campus planners and housing professionals create cost-effective strategies for mental health and wellness support. Attendees will examine research correlating wellness design, community, biophilia, and communication with retention and recruitment. Through practical activities, participants will practice design, roleplay stakeholder engagement, and develop communication strategies to enhance the residence experience. Gain insights and tools to create supportive, sustainable residential environments. This course provides 1.0 AIA CE.
More than You (Collectively) Bargained for: Labor Union Rises & Supervision – $25
Labor unions have increased presence across higher education, particularly for undergraduate residential life staff. Learn about common labor terminology and processes, common pieces of collective bargaining agreements and trends, and effective supervision strategies of unionized staff. Learn from staff who work with the oldest unionized undergraduate student staff in the U.S. and their experiences being members of a higher education labor union.
