Call for Proposals
We invite proposals from content experts who deeply engage with this year’s theme in meaningful, reflective, and action-oriented ways. As you craft your proposal, please ensure it aligns with the theme and addresses one or more of the following topic areas:
- Strategies for Inclusive Housing Practices: Frameworks for community development and actionable strategies to support diverse student needs.
- Enhancing Student Well-Being: Strategies to foster student well-being by addressing challenges such as food insecurity, housing instability, mental health concerns, academic stress, and social belonging.
- Creating Resilient Communities: How to equip students with the tools and resources to build resilience, navigate change, manage conflict, and succeed in a changing campus environment.
- Navigating Changing Campus Climates: Tools and strategies to address protests, DEI-related challenges, and legal risks.
- Supporting International Students: Effective practices and resources to address the unique challenges and needs of international students in housing including their integration, well-being, and academic success.
- Technology and Student Well-Being: Ways to integrate technology in housing operations to improve access and engagement.
We look forward to reviewing your proposals and learning from your expertise to advance housing and residence life.
Session Formats
This event features two primary session formats: presentations and panel discussions. Presenters are responsible for guiding thoughtful conversations, encouraging deep exploration of topics, sharing practical applications, or offering diverse perspectives. Presenters and panelists are encouraged to make sessions engaging by incorporating interactive elements such as polls, audience discussions, and other forms of active participation. To ensure a seamless and inclusive experience for all attendees, we ask that presenters avoid including breakout rooms in their sessions.
Submission Criteria
- Each session is 45 minutes, typically divided into 5 minutes for introductions, 35 minutes for the main content, and 5 minutes for audience questions.
- Sessions can include 1–4 presenters. Panel sessions must also include a moderator to guide the discussion. Presentations are lecture-format, while panel sessions follow an interview-style format.
- Sessions should incorporate interactive elements, from simple participation to highly engaging activities, to promote active learning.
- A slide presentation is required to ensure accessibility and accommodate virtual audiences. ACUHO-I will provide an event-branded slide template for presenters.
Please submit your outline by February 7, 2025. If you have any questions, please email education@acuho-i.org.
